The creative process for me is like a hike in an unfamiliar place. You begin with an idea in mind, but midway find yourself on a journey unearthing surprising things along the way. I may set out to create a pink rose, but when I make the background blue I could have the sudden urge to make the rose orange to make it stand out or purple for its likeness to subtly rise. I never know where a new idea will take me, but I very much enjoy the process of discovery and sharing what I find. Beyond my individual art work, I also teach and organize community events. Investing time inspiring and cultivating creativity in the Twin Cities Metro has yielded rewards of building relationships and completing larger art projects then I could accomplish on my own.
